# add_questions (/mcp/add-questions)

Adds the user's own questions to a scoring model, as [`POST /v1/scoring_models/{model_id}/questions`](/reference/add-questions). Free.

| Input | Description |
| ----------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `model_id` | Required. The scoring model |
| `questions` | Required. The user's own yes/no questions about a record: up to 20 at a time, 50 per scoring model, 500 characters each |
| `api_key` | `/mcp/keys` only |

Returns the scoring model as [`get_scoring_model`](/mcp/get-scoring-model) does, plus `added`: each new question's `id`, `text` and `used`, whether the score uses it yet.

* **Before the scoring model is calibrated,** the score uses them right away, each with a weight Finic estimates.
* **After,** they're asked on every [`score`](/mcp/score) call and tried at the next [`calibrate`](/mcp/calibrate), which keeps the ones that help. Until then they're listed as not used on its page in the Finic Portal.

See [Changing questions](/concepts/scoring-models#changing-questions).
