# delete_scoring_model (/mcp/delete-scoring-model)



Deletes a scoring model, as [`DELETE /v1/scoring_models/{model_id}`](/reference/delete-scoring-model).

| Input      | Description                 |
| ---------- | --------------------------- |
| `model_id` | Required. The scoring model |
| `api_key`  | `/mcp/keys` only            |

Returns `model_id` and `deleted: true`. Calls to it get `scoring_model_not_found` from then on.

* **It can't be undone.** Confirm with the user first. If they only want to stop using it, archive it instead with [`update_scoring_model`](/mcp/update-scoring-model) and `archived: true`.
* **Only an admin of the organization** can delete a scoring model: with someone else's key or sign-in, it gets `permission_denied`.
