# remove_question (/mcp/remove-question)

Removes a question from a scoring model, as [`DELETE /v1/scoring_models/{model_id}/questions/{question_id}`](/reference/remove-question). Free.

| Input | Description |
| ------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `model_id` | Required. The scoring model |
| `question_id` | Required. The question's `id`, from [`get_scoring_model`](/mcp/get-scoring-model) |
| `api_key` | `/mcp/keys` only |

Returns the scoring model as [`get_scoring_model`](/mcp/get-scoring-model) does. A removed question isn't asked or tried again.

* **Before the scoring model is calibrated,** any question can be removed, as long as one is left.
* **After,** a question the score uses is removed with `remove_questions` in [`calibrate`](/mcp/calibrate) instead, so the score is refit without it: removing it here gets `question_in_use`. The user's questions it doesn't use can be removed here.

See [Changing questions](/concepts/scoring-models#changing-questions).
