# delete_scoring_model (/reference/delete-scoring-model)



Only with an API key an admin of your organization created. This can't be undone: to stop calls to a scoring model without deleting it, archive it with [`update_scoring_model`](/reference/update-scoring-model).

## DELETE https://api.finic.ai/v1/scoring_models/{model_id}

Deletes a scoring model, with its records. Calls to it get `404 scoring_model_not_found` from then on, and it can't be undone: to stop using one without deleting it, archive it with [update_scoring_model](/reference/update-scoring-model). Only an admin of your organization can delete a scoring model: use an API key an admin created.

Authorization: `Bearer <API key>` (see [Authentication](/authentication)).
- Path parameter `model_id`: The scoring model's `model_id`.

### Responses

- **200**: The scoring model is deleted.

- **401**: `authentication_error`: the API key is missing, unknown, revoked or expired.

- **403**: `permission_denied`: the API key wasn't created by an admin of the organization. Use an admin's key, or archive the scoring model instead.

- **404**: `scoring_model_not_found`: no scoring model with this `model_id` in your organization.

- **429**: `rate_limited`: over the organization's [request rate](/reference#rate-limits). Retry with backoff.
