Agent quickstart

Add Finic's MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client. Your agent signs you in, sets up Finic with you and runs decisions and scores.

Finic's MCP server is:

https://api.finic.ai/mcp

Add it to your AI app as a custom connector. The first time your agent uses it, it shows you a sign-in link: sign in to Finic or create an account there, approve access, and your app gets its token automatically. Your agent never sees a key.

Add the connector

In claude.ai, Claude Desktop or Cowork, open Customize → Connectors, choose + Add → Add custom connector, name it Finic, enter https://api.finic.ai/mcp and add it. Then choose Connect and sign in.

On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds it once under Organization settings → Connectors (Add → Custom → Web); each member then chooses Connect under Customize → Connectors.

Then ask your agent

Set up Finic for me.

Use Finic to test whether it can catch the chargebacks in payments.csv.

Ask Finic whether this case looks like account takeover: a login from a new device abroad, a password reset, then a $4,900 wire to a new payee six minutes later.

How agents use Finic

  1. Call get_quickstart_skill first. It returns a skill that walks the agent through setup with you: data retention, your test data, your use case, testing Finic's accuracy and going live.
  2. Decisions work out of the box. decide answers questions about any case right away.
  3. Scores need setup. create_score builds a score from labeled examples (your data, or sample data the agent generates to try it out). Wait for it with get_job_status, then call score with records in the same shape as the examples. Send outcomes later with calibrate. list_scores shows the scores already created.

Every tool, its price and how its errors come back are in the MCP reference. Signed-in apps are listed in the Finic Portal under API keys, where you can sign them out; see Authentication.
