Zero data retention
Finic records request metadata only. The state, the questions and the answers are never stored.
Grayson reads each request, returns the answers and keeps nothing of the content. Request and response bodies (the state, the questions and the answers) are never stored.
What Finic records
For each request, the portal records metadata only:
- Time
- API key (or, for playground runs, the user)
- Model
- HTTP status
- Error type, but not the error message
- Number of questions
- Input tokens and the credit the request used
- Latency
- Request ID and decision ID
This metadata is what the portal's usage metrics show, and what support can look up from a request's X-Request-Id.
What Finic never stores
- The state
- The questions
- The answers
Saved playground requests
Requests you save in the portal's playground are kept in your account until you delete them. Their answers are not stored.
If you need the content of a decision later, for audits, appeals or tuning thresholds, store it in your own systems. See Keep your own record.
Policy
The binding text is the Zero Data Retention Policy, which is part of the Master Services Agreement and the Data Processing Addendum. Finic does not use requests or responses to train models, and gives 30 days' notice before any change that would reduce these protections.
